Council Meeting Policies and Guidelines
Reservation Policy
Council meetings are open to the public. Normally observers are not permitted to speak at Council meetings and will be asked to leave the meeting during in-camera sessions.
Because of considerable interest in CRPO’s meetings, we require observers to reserve a seat by contacting staff ahead of time at info@crpo.ca. We ask that you contact us no earlier than 14 days before any meeting to make your reservation. If you are unable to attend a meeting, please notify us to cancel your reservation. The reservation list will close once capacity is reached.
On the day of a meeting, please be sure to register at reception when you arrive so we can check you in and please arrive on-time to limit disruptions. If you arrive late we may ask that you wait for a break in the agenda before entering the room. If you have not arrived on time, we will assume that you are not attending the meeting and this could result in you losing your reservation to someone else who has arrived on time and is waiting for an open spot or cancellation.
If you are unable to secure a reservation, you are welcome to come to the meeting the day it is being held in the event that there are last minute cancellations. In this case, we cannot guarantee that seating will be available. Please do not just walk-in, but check with reception to determine if there is seating available for you.
Question Period Policy
CRPO is committed to communicating openly with interested stakeholders. If you have a question that you would like to have answered by the full Council in an open meeting, please refer to our Question Period Policy for more information about how to submit such a request. You can also request updates on agenda items that were presented at previous Council meetings by emailing info@crpo.ca
Council Observer Guidelines and Rules of Conduct
If you are planning to attend a Council meeting, please refer to our Council Observer Guidelines and Rules of Conduct for more information about expectations of observers.
