What is a Non-Council Member Appointment?

A non-council member appointment is a CRPO registrant who is appointed to a specific committee based on their knowledge, skill and expertise. Non-council members will attend regular committee meetings as well as committee panels to review specific cases or matters (e.g. registration applications that do not clearly meet the registration requirements). Click here for more information on committee time commitment.

What are the eligibility requirements for non-council appointments?

The eligibility requirements are outlined in detail in the CRPO by-laws.

How long will the non-council appointment last?

The appointment will last approximately one year. In accordance with the Non-Council Member Appointments policy, non-council appointments may serve a maximum of nine consecutive terms.

What is the compensation for serving as a non-council member?

Non-council members who sit on committees receive remuneration for attendance and preparation in accordance with the Per Diem & Honoraria Remuneration of Council and Committee Members policy. When travel, accommodations and/or meals are required, non-council members will be reimbursed in accordance with the Travel Expenses Remuneration of Council and Committee Members policy.

Presently, CRPO is seeking one (1) RP to serve on the following committee:

Are there any specific skills and experience that the CRPO Council is looking for in non-council member appointments?

Yes. We are seeking registrants with the following knowledge, skills and experience.

The Examination Committee is seeking:

  • An internationally trained professional who has satisfied the entry to practice exam requirement
  • A graduate of a bridging program
  • Training & experience working with individuals with disabilities and accommodating those individuals
  • Experience in competency-based testing or high stakes exams
  • Knowledge & understanding of CRPO’s entry-to-practice competencies
  • Experience providing clinical supervision to recent grads
